Illegal U-turn ends in DUI arrest

A 41-year-old Jim Thorpe woman who made an illegal U-turn on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township at 11:38 p.m. Saturdayended up being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said the incident happened about a half-mile south of White Oak Drive in the township, where the woman made the U-turn on a curved section of the roadway.

Police said after they stopped her they observed signs of impairment and administered standardized field sobriety tests to the woman. She was taken into custody and later administered a chemical test.
