Man tries to hit people with vehicle

A 46-year-old Lehighton man was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning, on charges of aggravated assault upon trying to hit three people with a vehicle on Walnut Street in Franklin Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said the incident happened at 8 p.m. Sunday when the driver intentionally made three attempts to strike the victims with the vehicle. No one was injured.

Police said the victims are a 38-year-old man, an 11-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, all from Lehighton.
