Mahanoy City man picked up on warrant

Published July 16. 2016 09:03AM

A Mahanoy City man wanted for failure to report to prison as directed was picked up by Tamaqua police on July 8.

As officers were assisting EMS personnel with a medical call at 11:58 a.m., they received a tip on the location of Jesse Michael Lincovich, 35. The tipster said Lincovich was seen entering 71 Bowe St., Tamaqua, a bit earlier in the morning.

Officers went to that location and were told the suspect had left minutes earlier. They conducted a search of the home, with the resident's permission.

Unable to locate him in the home, officers then began a search of the area and discovered him sitting on the iron steps between Mahanoy Street and Cottage Avenue.

Lincovich ran west on Mahanoy Street. When he refused to stop, officers used a Taser, which dropped him as he ran.

While preparing to transport Lincovich to the Schuylkill County Prison, officers found four syringes, two red straws, a razor blade, a metal spoon and three small plastic bags in his possession.

In addition to the warrant, he was charged with resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
