Monroe man cited for domestic incident

A Monroe County man was charged with simple assault and harassment stemming from a domestic incident.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers responded to a home along Hemlock Drive in Coolbaugh Township at 4:55 a.m. on July 7 for a reported domestic incident. On scene officers spoke to a woman who said her boyfriend, Bryan Gardenhire, 27, of Tobyhanna had assaulted her by striking her in the face several times. Officers said they observed injuries consistent with her statement.

Gardenhire was taken into custody and charged. He was placed in the county prison in Snydersville but has since been bonded out.
