Philadelphia man facing DUI charges

State police at Lehighton said a 25-year-old Philadelphia man is facing charges for driving under the influence of a controlled substance after he was stopped for several Motor Vehicle Code violations at 1:30 p.m. July 24 at the intersection of Pohopoco Drive and Grange Road in Franklin Township.

The man was driving a 2003 Audi sedan when he was stopped. Police said he showed signs of impairment due to being under the influence of drugs. Police said he was also found to be possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

He was transported to the Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, for a blood test. Results are pending. Police did not release his name.
