One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash that occurred at 6:35 p.m. on May 21 at the intersection of Route 209 and Hideaway Hill Road in Polk Township, Monroe County.

State police at Lehighton said Adam Kulig, 33, of East Stroudsburg, was driving a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country westbound on 209 following a 2011 Honda CRV operated by Diane K. Dear, 73, of Palmerton. Dear was stopped and attempting a left turn onto Hideaway Hill Road when Kulig's vehicle struck Dear's in the rear, forcing it into the northbound lane and the path of a 2012 Dodge Journey driven by Michael D. Snyder, 38, of Lehighton.

Dear was injured and taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. The other two drivers were not injured.

The three vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Troopers cited Kulig for following too closely.
