Driver cited after crash on I-81

A Northumberland County driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash along Interstate 81 in Delano Township, Schuylkill County, around 10 a.m. Monday.

State police at Frackville said Jason R. Tuit, 36, of Coal Township, was driving a 2015 Chrysler 200 northbound when he fell asleep. The vehicle left the road on the left side and struck a guide rail in the median. The car continued north along the shoulder for about 104 feet until it came to rest on the shoulder.

Tuit was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed from the scene. Troopers cited Tuit for careless driving.
