Published June 09. 2016 04:01PM

"Look Out," an original comedy by Brian McDermott, opens Friday at the Charles A. Brown Icehouse, 56 River St., Bethlehem. There will be an opening night reception after the show, which is produced by The Crowded Kitchen Players. Ara Barlieb directs.

The show focuses on the lives of four groups of people at various points in time, all summoning the courage and the will to hold on for at least one more tomorrow.

In 1939, Sara Fawn, Thomas Rush and Drake Nester - a man and woman, mismatched by age, circumstance, and degree of passion, perform the Dance of Denial in a sleazy motor lodge;

In 1959, Pamela Wallace, Suzy Hoffman and Ara Barlieb - a long-suffering couple board a Caribbean cruise ship drifting inexorably toward marital shoals;

In 1979 Tom Harrison, Lauri Beth Rogers and Alex Racines - a businessman on a transcontinental train feels his corporation has exiled him to a post in a far off Canadian gulag;

In 2019 Brian Wendt, Brian McDermott and Steven Rosenblum - a claustrophobic man is strapped into a plane seat by his long-suffering codependent partner.

Show time is 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and June 17-18; and 2 p.m. Sunday and June 19.
