Grateful for Yudichak
To the editor:
Some groups from New York City and Washington, D.C., have been critical of Sen. John Yudichak's work on environmental issues.
We don't know much about these out-of-state groups, but we do know how helpful Yudichak has been to the Nesquehoning Conservation Club.
Yudichak helped us secure $50,000 in state funding to turn 6 acres of land donated by the Kovatch family into a Nature Park in Nesquehoning Borough.
A fishing pond, damaged in a storm event, will be fully restored through the installation of a solar-powered aerator and reconnect the flow of fresh water from the Broad Run.
In addition to the restoration of the pond, a new walking trail and picnic area will be built to add to all the great outdoor amenities Carbon County has to offer.
I guess the folks from the big cities don't think much of small-town conservation efforts, but we are grateful Yudichak is there for us on all environmental issues both big and small.
