Columbia driver in Schuylkill crash

A Columbia County driver escaped injury in a one-vehicle crash on Thursday at 6:25 p.m. along Quality Hill Road, in Gilberton borough, Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Mercedes M. Alexander, 19, of Wilburton, was driving a 1997 Dodge Avenger southbound and attempting to make a left turn onto Draper Street when her vehicle left the road and entered the east berm where it struck a large rock with the front end.

Troopers cited Alexander for the crash.
