New wing contest this year at Schuylkill fair

This year the Schuylkill County Fair will partner with D.G. Yuengling and Son to bring a Yuengling Beer Wings Cooking Contest to the Schuylkill County Fair. Nicknamed “Yueng wings,” the contest will take place at 6 p.m. Aug. 1 in the PA Preferred building.

Preregister by filling out the “General Entry Form” at www.schuylkill.com/exhibits/, and mail it to the address on the form. You must be a resident of Schuylkill County and at least 21 years of age.

The recipe must accompany the wings and a label from any Yuengling Beer. Exhibitor must bring a minimum of two dozen wings in an appliance that will keep the wings warm or cold. Wings will be served and presented to judges for judging.

There are two classes for this contest. One contest for the average wing connoisseur and another one for the professional connoisseur representing a local bar or restaurant. First, second and third prizes will be awarded by D.G. Yuengling & Son.
