Tresckow man cited for weapon
A 19-year-old Tresckow man is facing a charge related to weapons after a traffic stop.
According to police, Brian Minzola was one of two passengers in a car that was stopped by police on May 26 for traveling the wrong way on a one-way street. Officers smelled the odor of marijuana in the car, leading to a search.
As a result of the investigation, Minzola was found to be carrying a knife-type instrument which Minzola told police is used for gutting deer but he uses it for self-defense. Police said the device has two finger holes similar to those of brass knuckles and has two fixed blades on opposite sides.
Minzola was charged with possession of a prohibited offensive weapon.
