Car hits hydrant in Bowmanstown crash

State police at the Lehighton barracks said a vehicle sustained minor damages when it struck a fire hydrant on Fireline Road in Bowmanstown around 8 p.m. June 1.

Police did not identify the driver of the 1997 Saturn SE, but said the incident took place at 633 Fireline Road when the vehicle left the roadway and struck the hydrant. Police said the vehicle was drivable after the incident and no physical damage to the hydrant was observed, although it appeared to be leaning.

Police said a Bowmanstown employee them that the driver had provided information on the incident to the borough.
