Vehicle backs up into mailbox

A mailbox was damaged and a vehicle sustained a smashed rear window in an incident at 2:24 p.m. Mondayat the intersection of Stoney Ridge Road and Fuzzy Lane in Lower Towamensing Township. No one was injured.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said a 2007 Dodge Caravan, whose driver was not identified by police, was backing up to turn around on Stoney Ridge Road when it came in contact with a mailbox along side the road. The mailbox, owned by the Kleintop family, sustained minor damages.
