Woman jailed on trespass charges

A Schuylkill County woman was jailed on Wednesday on criminal trespass charges.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said around 5 p.m. troopers responded to the area of Canal and Cherry streets in Port Carbon for a report of a woman entering numerous residences in the borough. She was detained and positively identified as the woman entering a residence on Canal Street and another residence on Cherry Street.

The suspect was identified as Cortney Lee Schweikert, 19, of Kaska. She was charged with two counts of criminal trespass, as felony threes, and arraigned before on-call District Judge David J. Ross, of Tremont.

She was committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post $10,000 straight cash bail.
