One injured in Carbon crash

One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash reported on June 23 at 11:13 a.m. along Bank Street in Bowmanstown, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Jamie D. Verba, 24, of Palmerton, was stopped on Bank Street to allow a truck to turn right. Catherine L. Dreher, 84, of Lehighton, was traveling eastbound and approaching Verba's vehicle and attempted to overtake and pass him on the shoulder of the road. She was unsuccessful with the front of Dreher's 2007 Ford Focus striking the right rear area of Verba's 2004 Ford Mustang. Dreher sustained a suspected minor injury and was taken to the Palmerton hospital by Palmerton ambulance for evaluation.

The Ford Focus had to be towed from the scene. Troopers cited Dreher for overtaking a vehicle on the right.
