Perkasie driver cited in Tamaqua incident
A Perkasie man faces charges following a vehicle stop in Tamaqua on Feb. 28.
An officer was on patrol at 9:17 p.m. when he saw a green Subaru traveling west on Broad Street. One of the headlights wasn't working and the officer stopped the Subaru and identified the driver as Andrew Sell, 21. While waiting for Sell to provide his license, registration and proof of insurance, the officer noticed the inspection sticker was out of date.
As the officer explained the reason behind the traffic stop, Sell volunteered the information that he did not have any drugs in the car and the officer was free to search the car and his person.
The officer did a search and found a zipped bag containing green vegetable matter, suspected to be marijuana.
Sell faces charges of possession of marijuana and traffic violations.
