Albrightsville man is victim of scam

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating a theft/fraud/forgery case in which a 60-year-old Albrightsville man is the victim.

Police said the resident of Caedman Drive, Penn Forest Township, reported receiving a telephone call from a mortgage lender in reference to a loan modification. The man sent money via a MoneyGram as instructed and later learned he was scammed. The total loss is $994.50.

The incidents occurred at 4:17 p.m. Feb. 22 and 3 p.m. March 4.
