A Tamaqua area man was cited after a domestic incident in the borough on March 13.

Borough police received a report at 8:37 p.m. about a disturbance at 310 Biddle St. The caller said her ex-boyfriend, Matthew Robert Martin, 36, of 5 Gamelands Road, Tamaqua, had caused a disturbance, chased their 6-year-old son, threatened and harassed them. Martin left the scene when she called police.

Martin was driving a green Subaru and was found a short distance away on Greenwood Street. His version was that his ex-girlfriend was giving him a problem with visitation of his son. Martin said he took his son to his car, spoke with him and then returned him to his mother.

Officers went to the Biddle Street home and spoke with the ex-girlfriend and several of the neighbors. All stated Martin had cursed his son's mother, yelled and screamed while standing in the street, all in front of the 6-year-old boy. The victim also showed police her cellphone, which recorded more than 30 calls she received from Martin in a short period of time.

The child was so upset, he wrote a note he showed the officers.

Martin was cited for stalking, harassment and disorderly conduct.
