Two-vehicle crash in Schuylkill

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a two-vehicle crash at 6:46 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Route 901 (Gordon Nagle Trail) and Red Horse Road in North Manheim Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Joanne M. Houser, 56, of Llewellyn, was stopped in the eastbound lane on 901 waiting to turn onto Red Horse Road when her 2003 Ford Taurus was struck in the rear by a 2014 Freightliner tractor with trailer driven by Jamie E. Roadarmel, 44, of Trevorton, Northumberland County.

After impact the tractor continued east and drove through the guardrail on the south side of 901, continued through a field for about 50 feet and came to rest in the field facing east.

After impact the Taurus traveled about 5 feet and came to rest in the eastbound lane.

There were no injuries. Roadarmel was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
