Take a trip under the sea
Go under the sea when Jim Thorpe Area High School presents "The Little Mermaid" at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Based on Disney's popular film of the same title, which was adapted from the popular Hans Christian Anderson tale about Ariel, a beautiful little mermaid who falls in love with the handsome Prince Eric and longs to be part of his world - the human world. Ariel makes a deal with Ursula, the wicked sea witch, to give up her tails for a pair of legs. Ursula tricks Ariel into giving up her voice, and if she doesn't convince the prince to kiss her within three days, Ariel will belong to the sea witch.
The production includes songs from the Disney movie.
Cast members are Brooke McElmoyle (Ariel), Declan Behan (King Triton), Nolan Rehrig (Prince Eric), Mikayla Pruitte (Flounder), Stephen Jaramillo (Scuttle) and David Bowen (Sebastion).
The Mersisters include Stephanie Dykas (Aquata), Olivia Frycklund (Andrina), Brielle Long (Arista), Lilly Heydt (Atina), Erin Remmel (Allana) and Colee Fikentscher (Adella).
Other characters include Christian Gould (Chef Louis), Emilio Mercado (Windward), Carson Queen (Leeward), Dana Rodriguez (Flotsam), Monique Jervier (Jetsam), Kellee Jo Kleintop (Ursula) and Jordan Remmel (Pilot).
Sailors and sea creatures are played by Mariana Jaramillo, Carson Queen, Lisa Napoletano, Allie Marciante, Prince Simmonds; maids, Amalia Enchevaria, Kathleen Conway, Sadie O'Donnell and Molly Behan; and princesses, Amalia Enchevaria, Lauren Hill, Jessica Lauer, Sharin Fisher, Allie Marciante and Ashley Hill.
"The Little Mermaid" is under the direction of Natalie Kmetz.
