Tamaqua man cited for drunkenness
A Tamaqua man was cited after a domestic argument on May 5.
Tamaqua police responded to Nescopec and Clay streets at 10:25 p.m. after a report of a loud domestic dispute, both in the street and at a home at 131 Clay St.
Officers could hear a man and woman screaming at each other. The woman, who had cuts on her hands, said her boyfriend, Pedro Rodriguez, was drunk and they were arguing. There were bleeding cuts on her hand, which she said happened when she fell.
Rodriguez had blood on his hands and wrists, but no cuts. He refused to go inside the home and was then taken to the police station where he was uncooperative, punching the walls of the cell, yelling for a cigarette.
He was released hours later with citations for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
