Why Raise Taxes

Dear Editor,

In regard to the Panther Valley School District raising property taxes, why is the school district raising taxes when the fund balance is in the millions of dollars?

I would also like to know how much interest is made on the fund balance invested money?

I know it is not in the hundreds of dollars, it is in the thousands of dollars for the year.

I am sure that there are more cuts that can be made to this budget.

The best thing that can happen for the taxpayers is for the state Legislature to pass the Property Tax Independence Act.

Once you raise taxes, they are not coming back down.

Could senior citizens afford this tax hike?
