Crash in East Penn, driver flees scene

Carl Robert Stevens, 37, of East Penn Township, is facing charges of driving under the influence after he crashed his vehicle at 4:16 p.m. Oct. 23 on Route 895 in the township and fled the scene.

Police said he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel down an embankment, after which time he left the scene.

Stevens was taken into custody at his residence.

The crash happened near the intersection with Ziegler Road.
