Tamaqua driver hits deer

A Tamaqua driver's vehicle struck a deer in Lehigh County on Friday.

State police at Fogelsville said Christopher R. Wippel, 35, was driving a 2012 Toyota RAV 4 northbound on Route 100 in Lowhill Township at 9:13 p.m. when a deer entered the road in front of him. Wippel was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the front end of the RAV 4 causing disabling damages.

Wippel and his passenger, Lisa M. Wippel, 35, were not injured.
