Jim Thorpe man jailed after chase

State police at the Lehighton barracks arrested a 25-year-old Jim Thorpe man on multiple charges after a vehicular chase at 9:45 p.m.Saturday in Bowmanstown.

Police said the man was arraigned on charges of fleeing and eluding police, recklessly endangering another person, driving under the influence (two counts) and multiple traffic violations. He was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, in lieu of $4,000 bail.

Police said the accused fled in a red Chevy pickup. After a 2-mile chase, the incident ended when the truck struck a residential property.
