Tamaqua police file charges

Tamaqua Police filed charges in several recent incidents.

• Thomas Joseph Sands Jr., 46, of Cottage Avenue in Tamaqua, was cited for harassment after he sent numerous threatening text messages to a Tamaqua woman on Nov. 10.

• Michael Houser, 26, of Lincoln Street in Tamaqua, was charged with harassment on Nov. 18, after his ex-girlfriend told police he was following her every time she left her house.

• William Dietrich, 41, of Tamaqua, was cited for indirect criminal contempt after he violated a protection from abuse order on Nov. 18.

Dietrich reportedly sent several text messages and tried to call a Tamaqua woman who was granted a PFA prohibiting him from having contact with her.
