New York man cited for DUI

Published October 05. 2016 12:35PM

A New York man was cited by McAdoo police in connection with a traffic stop on Aug. 26.

It was 1:34 a.m. when an officer on patrol saw a blue Chevrolet traveling north on Kennedy Drive with a nonworking passenger-side head light. After stopping the car the officer noticed a strong aroma of marijuana coming from inside. The driver was identified as Richard Maxwell, 50.

A passenger in the car said he was the one who had been smoking, but Maxwell's tongue had a green tint.

The driver was given, and failed, field sobriety tests and issued a citation for driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
