With the allure of a modern day outlaw, Gary Allan has won over fans, peers and critics with his signature blend of smoldering vocals, rebellious lyrics and raucous live performances. He'll be bringing all of that to Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe Sunday when he takes the stage at 8 p.m.

While becoming a force on the country music scene, Allan has remained true to his artistic voice each step of the way. He just re-signed with Universal Music Group Nashville, the label home for the entirety of his 20-year career.

"Do You Wish It Was Me?", the debut single from his upcoming EMI Nashville release, hit the radio this June.

The single was cowritten by Allan, Jonathan Singleton and Andrew Dorff and coproduced by Allan and Greg Droman.

His last album, "Set You Free," topped the Billboard 200 (Pop Chart), a career first for Allan. The album also made its debut at the top of the Billboard Country Album chart (for the fourth time in a row), and produced his fifth number 1 country radio chart topper with "Every Storm Runs Out of Rain."

The California native released his first album, "Used Heart for Sale," in 1996 and since then has released eight additional studio albums selling over 7 million albums; been certified platinum on three back-to-back albums; and been certified gold five times.

He has five number one hits at country radio, 14 Top 10 hits to his credit and amassed over 270 million total streams.

He's described as "dark and dreamy" in Entertainment Weekly, "soulful and rough around the edges" in Playboy and deemed a "maverick" by Rolling Stone.

Allan has appeared on numerous television shows and has landed on the covers of Country Weekly, Pollstar and People magazine.

Next weekend at the Peak

For the past five years Jethro Tull's Martin Barre has toured the world with his own band to play the "classic" music from the Jethro Tull catalog, and also many new tracks written by Barre from his albums "Away with Words" and "Order of Play," plus his latest album, "Back to Steel."

He comes to Penn's Peak at 8 p.m. Oct. 21.

For 43 years Barre was the renowned guitarist of Jethro Tull, and his role in the band cannot be overestimated.

His unique sound and style contributed enormously to the band's success, which includes several chart topping albums, 11 gold and five platinum albums, a Grammy Award for "Crest of a Knave" in 1988, and album sales exceeding 60 million units.

At 8 p.m. Oct. 23 11-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Jamey Johnson is "one of the greatest country singers of our time," according to The Washington Post.

He is one of only a few people in the history of country music to win two Song of the Year Awards from both the CMA and ACMs.

His 2008 album, "That Lonesome Song," was certified platinum for 1 million in sales, and his 2010 ambitious double album, "The Guitar Song," received a gold certification.
