Police issue harrassment charges

Police report the following harassment incidents:

• Melissa Filer, 45, of North Railroad Street, Tamaqua, was cited by Tamaqua police after a disturbance on Oct. 1

Officers were called to Filer's address at 7:38 p.m. They were met by a Summit Hill woman, who said she and Filer had been arguing and that Filer punched her in the chest. She was cited for harassment.

• State police at Frackville charged Michael A. Bearden Jr., 20, of Pottstown, with harassment and domestic assault after an incident against a woman at 6 a.m. Oct. 6 at 9 Back St., Mahanoy Township.

Police said the two were involved in an argument which escalated when Bearden assaulted a woman by pulling her hair and arms.

• State police at Frackville said Paul Samuel Hutnick, 46, of Ashland, was cited following an incident that occurred at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday at 1010 W. Centre St., Ashland. Troopers said Hutnick and his girlfriend had a domestic dispute. The woman's cousin attempted to stop the argument. Hutnick threw a child's toy which struck her in the back of the head. She did not require medical treatment.
