Schuylkill man arrested for domestic assault

A Schuylkill County man was jailed on Monday for domestic assault following an incident at his residence.

State police at Fracvkille identified the suspect as Ryan Briggs, 29, of 24 Pattersonville Road, in Union Township.

Police said Briggs threw a brick at the front windshield of a 35-year-old woman from Frackville between midnight and 7 a.m. Monday. A few hours later he threw the woman onto a bed and punched her numerous times about the head, face and back/rib area.

Briggs was taken into custody and charged with simple assault. It was also discovered that Shenandoah police had an active warrant for his arrest on a drug delivery charge.

Briggs was arraigned by on-call District Judge Christina Hale, of Frackville, and was committed to the county prison in Pottsville.
