Man cited for violations

Tamaqua police have filed citations against James Faust, 29, of Washington Street, Tamaqua, in connection with a crash on Aug. 30.

An officer was on patrol at 9:30 a.m., traveling on Pine Street, when a vehicle turning from Elm Street swerved rapidly when the driver saw the police cruiser. The officer did a records check on the license plate, which came back to a different vehicle than the one it was on.

Faust was stopped in the area of Mauch Chunk and Pine streets.

He was cited for driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle and unauthorized use of a license plate.
