Theft of excavator being investigated

Pocono Mountain Regional police are investigating the theft of a John Deer mini-excavator from a construction site in Tobyhanna.

Police said on the morning of Sept. 7 workers found that an excavator was removed from a trailer in a parking lot off Route 196. The excavator was then driven through a wooded area to Kings Way in Pocono Farms East where it was loaded onto another trailer. The excavator is yellow with a gray cab, has rubber tracks and a plow blade. The equipment is owned by American Water Company.
