Tamaqua man cited for drunkenness

John J. Kamant, 56, of Orwigsburg Street, Tamaqua, was cited by Tamaqua police after he was found sleeping on a bench outside the Tamaqua Train Station on Sept. 5.

Kamant, who was found on the bench at 11:37 p.m., was incoherent, unable to stand on his own and smelled strongly of alcohol. He was searched and transported to the police station, where he spent about several hours sleeping in a cell.

He was released at 6:20 a.m. Sept. 6 with a citation for public drunkenness.
