Numerous charges filed after traffic stop

A traffic stop in Coaldale on Aug. 27 resulted in numerous charges being filed against Daniel J. Sabol, 36, of West Lehigh Street, Coaldale.

An officer on patrol on Fifth Street saw a gold van with an expired inspection sticker being backed into a parking spot behind the Coaldale Borough Garage.

The officer turned around to check on the vehicle, which was now being driven west on Ridge Street. He conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Sabol, whose driver's license came back as being suspended for a DUI-related offense. A search of the van found a package of Suboxone in a CD container on the driver's side sun visor.

Sabol was cited for possession of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license, driving without a valid inspection and possession of a misbranded controlled substance.
