Palmerton woman leaves scene of crash

State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a one-car crash that happened at 7:55 a.m. April 4 on East Lizard Creek Road in East Penn Township resulting in the driver leaving the scene.

Police said Cheryl Binder, 58, of Palmerton, was driving the 1999 purple Saturn east on East Lizard Creek Road, near West Bowmans Road, when she lost control of the vehicle. It traveled into the westbound lane and off the left side of the road where it struck a brick wall on the parking lot of Wentz's Auto Body.

Police said she left the scene by an unknown means.
