Driver cited for DUI after crash

Published April 26. 2017 01:07PM

A Northampton County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance following a one-vehicle crash in which he and two passengers sustained minor injuries on Sunday in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Gregory T. Golden, 20, of Bethlehem, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander southbound on Route 61 in New Castle Township, when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve. The Uplander went onto the west berm and struck a traffic sign and an advertising billboard. It then continued for about 100 feet south where it struck a tree head-on. The Uplander came to final rest against the tree along a creek bed.

Golden and passengers Anthony Buckely, 19, of Easton, and Tyrique Scipio, 19, of Fountain Hill, were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital South Campus, Pottsville.
