Rig crashes on I-80 in Monroe County
A tractor-trailer rig crashed along Intestate 80 in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County, at 9:07 Sunday.
State police at Fern Ridge said Victor A. Thomas, 36, of Columbus, Georgia, was driving a 2017 Freightliner tractor with trailer eastbound when it left the road, struck the guide rail and rolled down an embankment.
Thomas and his passenger, Artemus T. Terhune, 28, of Chicago, Illinois, were not injured. The rig had to be towed.
Troopers cited Thomas for careless driving.
