Wine pairing, dinner to help historical group

Monroe County Historical Association will host a three-course wine pairing dinner and auction fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 7. The third annual "Raise your Glass & Support the Past" event will be held at the Lodge at Mountain Springs Lake in Reeders.

Auction items include artwork by Sterling Strauser, Charlene Taylor, Pat Kresge, Jack Savitsky, Dee Huxster, Mary Jane Arner, Miharu Lane and Sherwood Samet. Getaway auction items include a seven-day South African Guided Safari for two at Safari Lodge; a weeklong vacation in Virginia Beach; Disney Park passes; and an overnight stay for four at Kalahari.

Other auction items consist of a Duckloe star table; restaurant gift certificates; overnight stay packages and unique experiences; wine baskets; jewelry, appraisal services; and more. Hartzell's Auction Gallery is donating its auction services for this event. Erin McClelland will provide the entertainment.

Reservations must be made by Aug. 25.
