Monroe man facing charges

A Monroe County man is facing charges following an incident that occurred at 6:55 p.m. Aug. 2.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers on patrol in the Greenwood Acres development observed a vehicle parked at the beach along Lido Drive. Contact was made with the driver and passenger, who was immediately identified as Xavier Rodriguez, 23, ofBlakeslee.

A warrant check indicated that Rodriguez had active warrants for his arrest. Upon the arrival of another police unit, Rodriguez ran from officers. Following a short foot pursuit, Rodriguez was taken into custody.

He was taken to the county prison in Snydersville on the warrants. He was also charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
