Police plan special holiday patrols

State police at Lehighton announced in an effort to reduce the number of crashes, injuries and fatalities on roadways in Carbon and Monroe counties, troopers will be conducting stationary/roving DUI patrols during the Labor Day holiday weekend, running from Friday through Monday. These patrols are part of the state police selective traffic enforcement against drunken driving program.

A stationary checkpoint will be held on a primary roadway in Carbon or Monroe counties, troopers added.
