Attempted break-in at Polk business

State police at Lehighton are investigating an attempted burglary at a Monroe County business.

Troopers said at 2:21 a.m. Jan. 27, they responded to the Armory, located 818 Interchange Road (Route 209), in Polk Township for an alarm activation.

Troopers saw someone had attempted to gain entry to the building by pulling out an air conditioning unit on the side of the building. Also observed was an attempt to get into the building by prying open a side door. Both attempts were unsuccessful.

Video surveillance indicated that there were at least three suspects involved who fled in a dark sedan northbound on Route 209.
