Driver causes chain reaction

State police at Fogelsville cited a driver after a chain-reaction crash on Route 309 on Jan. 16 in Lynn Township.

Police said a Peterbilt truck driven by 70-year-old David Reis of Schuylkill Haven struck a vehicle from behind after a third vehicle in front of them stopped to make a left turn.

That impact caused the two vehicles in front of the truck to collide.

The driver of the vehicle that Reis struck was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Reis was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
