Vehicle strikes deer on I-78 exit ramp

No one was injured when a vehicle struck a deer that ran into its path on the eastbound exit ramp of Interstate 78 in Lower Saucon Township at 2:44 p.m. Feb. 15.

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said Robert W. Strawhacker, 69, of Lehighton, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe when he drove toward Route 309 south and the deer entered its path. He and his passenger, Joan A. Strawhacker, 70, also of Lehighton, were not hurt.
