Al and Linda Klitsch
Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius P. Klitsch of Bulverde, Texas, formerly of Jim Thorpe, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
They were married July 15, 1967, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri, by the Rev. Probst.
Mrs. Klitsch is the former Linda Marie Oestricker, daughter of the late Elizabeth and Floyd Oestricker of St. Louis.
Mr. Klitsch is the son of the late Aloysius J. Klitsch and Pauline (Marzen) Klitsch of Jim Thorpe.
Al and Linda were the proprietors of Klitsch Electric, a family owned and operated business started by Al's father in 1934. Al took over the business in 1972, which initially was Klitsch Radio and Electric Service, located at 56 Broadway in Jim Thorpe.
In 1986, the Klitschs moved to their lake house in Lake Harmony until they downsized their empty nest, building in the Sweet Briar development in Jim Thorpe.
Al retired the 76-year-old family business in 2010. He and Linda then retired to Bulverde, which is in the hill country, 20 minutes north of San Antonio, building a cottage on their daughter's property.
Al continues to be active in the community and works at Home Depot, with the title of master electrical specialist.
Linda enjoys sewing, which includes teaching her Texan granddaughters the skill. Both Al and Linda enjoy the warm weather, not missing the northeastern cold and snow.
They have three children: Dawn (Klitsch) Perez and her husband Dominic Perez, of Bulverde; David Klitsch and his wife Jennifer Klitsch of Jim Thorpe; and Maria (Klitsch) Ryan and her husband Mike Ryan of Lansdale.
They have eight grandchildren: Gabriella Perez, Kylie Perez, Ashlyn Klitsch, Emily Ryan, Brandon Klitsch, Lauren Perez, Megan Ryan and Jamison Klitsch.
The couple will celebrate with a family gathering and dinner.
