Per Capita Discounts

This letter is in regards to our tax papers - per capita, occupational and real estate.

As you know, if you pay them before Aug. 31, you get a 2 percent discount. To get the discount from July 1 through Aug. 31, and since we in Parryville who just received them today on July 17, do we get a 17-day extension? I had our postmaster stamp and initial them at the post office.

I know Palmerton received their tax papers on the first and Lehighton on Friday the 14th. Is this fair to the people that really have to save and come up with these amounts?
