Monroe man faces child sex charges

A Monroe County man is facing child sex charges.

Police arrested Leonard Rubben Beverly on May 12.

He faces charges of statutory sexual assault, improper deviant sexual intercourse with a person less than 16 years of age, unlawful contact with a minor, aggravated indecent assault of a person under 16, and incest of a minor, all felonies.

On May 19, Beverly waived his right to a preliminary hearing on the charges.

The case will now be transferred to common pleas court.

Beverly has been jailed since May 12 in lieu of $200,000 bail.
