Published June 03. 2017 09:02AM

State police at Frackville reported investigating a crash in a construction zone along Interstate 81 in New Castle Township, Schuylkill County, on Thursday.

Troopers said Braulio Sanchez-Ocasio, 46, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2005 Ford Freestyle northbound about 8:12 a.m. and entering a construction zone where travel was reduced to one lane. Anthony J. Bova, 21, also of Shenandoah, driving a 2005 Ford Focus, also northbound behind Sanchez-Ocasio, failed to slow down with the front of his vehicle rear-ending the Freestyle. Both vehicles went off the road after impact and came to rest along the east berm.

Sanchez-Ocasio was injured and taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East, Pottsville. Bova was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed.

Troopers cited Bova for following too closely.
