Tamaqua man jailed after domestic

Clair Joseph Quick of Yetten Circle, Tamaqua, was taken to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville after a domestic dispute on May 29.

Tamaqua police were contacted by the victim at 7:15 p.m. She said the couple was arguing all day, but that it turned physical around 4 p.m. Quick pushed her and attempted to punch her. At one point, he pointed a .45 caliber handgun at the woman and her 4-year-old daughter and placed his arm against the child's neck, causing a bruise on the left side.

He was arraigned before duty District Magisterial Judge David Rossi on charges of strangulation, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. Bail was set at $50,000 straight, which he was unable to post.
