State police at Frackville report:

• Jose M. Batista Marte, 29, of Shenandoah, and Edward V. Fegley II, 24, of Mount Carmel, were both southbound on Route 924 in Gilberton about 5:50 a.m. on Saturday, and negotiating a right uphill curve. Troopers said Marte's 2004 Mazda Tribute hit the concrete median strip dividing the south and northbound lanes. Upon impact Marte slammed on his brakes and swerved to the right, then left with the front right corner of his vehicle hitting the rear of Fegley's 2005 Dodge Dakota truck. Marte's vehicle then continued across both southbound lanes and went partway up an embankment along the berm, came back down and came to rest in the southbound lanes.

No one was injured. Both vehicles were towed.

Troopers cited Marte for the crash.

• A Berks County driver was cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 3:24 p.m. on Thursday along Route 443 in East Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County.

Police at Frackville said Christopher Jozwiak, 44, of Mohrsville, was driving a 2011 Ford Econoline van westbound and negotiating a right turn, just east of New Ringgold borough, when the van crossed the eastbound lane and onto the berm where it struck a guide rail and came to rest.

Jozwiak was not injured but the van was towed from the scene. Troopers said Jozwiak told them he may have fallen asleep at the wheel. Troopers were assisted at the scene by volunteers from the New Ringgold Fire Company.
